Orgo II + Math 216 + Phys 140 + X

Hi,

I'm taking these classes with labs for 14 total credits next semester. Could you please recommend another class to get me a couple more credits. I was thinking Bio 173, but three labs per week may be too much. Also, I want classes without subjective papers or projects; I prefer taking tests much better. :)

Thanks in advance!

Are you a freshman? I went for 18 credits Winter semester freshman year and it was overkill when added with my activities. I guess mine were all necessary, but I was really stressed out and quite fortunate to get a GPA as high as I did for the semester. A few hours less of work+class+activities per week would have really made my quality of life higher.

Anyways, my 18 credit semester I did Physics 140/141 and Math 255 (Calc II App Honors). Physics 140 takes a LOT of work to be successful. I'm in 216 right now, it isn't too bad, if you have been successful in other U-M math classes you shouldn't have too much trouble. My easy class for the semester was Chem 125/130 and I also took Great Books 192.

But adding Orgo II and another few credits to this mix just seems AWFUL to me. I thought I could do it, and even did ok with it, but the amount of activity I had is just something I do not want to repeat at U-M. If you are involved in anything that takes up time out of class, I would not recommend this kind of schedule. At the very least, take something that is known as an easy class at U of M, like Psych 111.

Yes, I'm a freshman (premed). I think I may stick with 14 credits and take Bio 173 next year, as a sophomore.
