Hi everyone. I'm taking organic chemistry this upcoming year and am currently enrolled in the lab for the fall semester. I'm rethinking it know and wondering if It'd be better to take it in the spring? I've heard different decent reactions to both and would really appreciate if someone gave me their opinion! Thanks much!

Either semester is fine (I know friends who took it both semesters, and it didn’t make a big difference for either of them). I recommend taking it during the less hectic semester.

It’s really fine either way. I took it in the fall after a whole year of Orgo and I really liked doing that. While everyone else was trying to figure out orgo, I just had the worry about the lab and it wasn’t too bad. I did not have any “what the heck is this” type of moments. I imagine people taking it in the fall along with the first semester of Orgo might feel confused at times, since a lot of the mechanisms are from the second semester.

Regardless, it is designed so people can succeed in either semester.
