Orientation Advice (possibly off-topic)

Hey, sorry if this shouldn't be here, but this is just a word of advice for people applying to U.Va. this year:

If you get in, try your hardest to sign up for one of the earlier orientation sessions. I was just there last weekend, and classes are already filling up quickly. You'll have a much easier time getting the classes you want if you go as early as possible.

And just in case people don’t click through, this was posted on my blog a few weeks ago:

It is true that there is no advantage of attending a early orientation session. However, I do think there is advantage for those who get to do course registration on a earlier time spot within an orientation session. Signing up at 9am should give you more advantage than signing up at 4pm. However, I do believe the sign up time is assigned randomly or alphabetically, so there isn’t much that you can do.
