i just registered for session A (june).. but i realized that i don't get my AP scores from this year until July. i know we register for classes and take placement exams at orientation, so how do i manage doing that w/o these scores?

I'm in the same situtation and I'm guessing I won't take any courses the first semester that I may test out of when the AP scores arrive. If I didn't get 4s or 5s I'll just take the class later.

Same- I can't go to the ones in July because I'll be on vacation. I already know I'm out of math b/c of AP Calc credit, and I can't really place out of any other classes b/c I didn't take an AP science.

I guess you just have to do your best on the placement exams during orientation.

are parents allowed to tag along for the orientation?
if not, where would they stay for 6 hours (my parents will drive me to and from NYU)?

How do you know which orientation you are going to? My D sent in the paperwork and had the choice of 3 dates. She chose 7/6, but we have seen no other paperwork. Have you?

No, parents don't 'tag along'. Orientation is for students. Your parents have the entire city to explore. I don't think they'll have a problem finding something to do.

does orientation cost money? someone told me it did, but i couldn't really see that.

I am sure it costs money

it cost $295.00.

please please continue this forum at violetforums.com ("orientation" forum)... i actually did much of the work for the site, and I'm currently working at the college of arts and science (for system administration)... so if you need to be switched to a different section (that isnt closed), i can probably help you (if you're in CAS). just please continue posting at violetforums... it's my responsibility to get the word out... and everyone here seems to visit, but not register or post.

are we talking about the orientation for CAS or maybe also other schools which is like a few days before classes start? or is this the price for orientation during summer?
should we pay $295.00 for the week of Aug 27-Sept3, am I correct???
