Hello all,
I have two separate questions:
Orientation Question: So I got accepted as a Transfer Student for COLA undeclared, and I have intentions on getting a 4.0 GPA (at least what I aim for) this upcoming fall. Unfortunately I had a plan to leave out of town from June 13- July 7th, So with that being said, I would have to attend the very last orientation dates. I would really like to get the best professors possible, but I’m not sure if that’s possible since I’ll be one of the last ones attending Orientation. I am willing to skip the trip in order to get better professors. Any advice?
Calculus Question: So I am attempting to internally transfer to Mccombs, and so I need to knock out Calc 1 and 2 in the fall and spring at UT. Are there any ALEKS study guides out there to prepare me for Calculus? Math is definitely not my strong suit, and I need to do well. Any advice on prepping for this class before the Fall comes around? Thanks.
You should have the ability to go back through ALEKS modules for a whole semester, that is what I read anyway.
@amottmers is ALEKS a online at home test or something?
@jimbob22 yes, it is required to take if you are taking the Math Assessment at orientation, at least is for my daughter. Are you taking the math assessment at orientation? If so go on the UT site and search for ALEKS, it costs $50, once you take it you can go back through the modules that you might of had problems with, they say you will have access to it for a semester.
@jimbob22 If you are planning to take Calc 1, then the Math Assessment at orientation is required but it might be a little different for transfer students. I would look all that up.
Orientation Answer: all orientations have limited spots in registration. I.e. a chemistry class has 10 open spots for orientation session 1, 2, 3, etc. Earlier orientations are not associated with better chances at getting the classes you want. .
