Orientation and Housing Payments

Can we use our financial aid money to have to pay the $500 prepayment for housing and the $130 for the orientation?

housing =no
orientation=yes

by when is the orientation payment due?

yea i was wondering about the same thing...i thought orientation payments were due august 1st...but now i am not sure. Does anyone know when they are due?

oh and by the way...when you register for orientation, there's a check box for if you want to do "Early Lodging". Does anyone know what that is, and should i check it?

Last year for ERC orientation payments weren't even made until well into the second quarter if I remember correctly.

when I registered for orientation, it said that the orientation fee will be added to your tuition bills... so I'm guessing you dont have to pay until you're in sd.

If I remember correctly, it did say that orientation will be billed with tuiton and other fees.

and ihavenolife, early lodging is if you're arriving to San Diego early from out of town and want to stay at UCSD before orientation begins.

ok cool. then do you guys know when is the deadline for registering for orientation?

i think it's june 11 before you have to pay a late fee.

is the $500 prepayment for housing subtracted from the total cost of housing that we will have to pay later on? for example if it says i have to pay $7,000 (dont remember exact price) for a triple, does that mean i will only have to pay $6500 after i've paid the prepayment? or is it like a deposit?

^wait, what? June 11????
are we paying through e-check, or what?

You technically don't have a choice about which fees your financial aid money pays. Bascially, they add up the total amount of financial aid you receive and subtract that from the total amount of fees you owe.

i believe the orientation fee is added onto your bill that you will pay later along with housing and tuition. the june 11 orientation deadline is for muir students so i can't say if it's the same for the other colleges.
