Orientation/AP Conflict Scenario

Here's an interesting question that most universities must encounter:

Suppose Orientation, which is when you will get your schedule for the upcoming year, is before you get your results from AP exams. The orientation days I signed up for are all in June so there will be no way to know if I'll be exempt from the English/Math APs I took my senior year, so when I get my schedule, must I sign up for English 101 since I haven't received my AP results?

How does the University accommodate and handle this?

Thanks in advance.

I went through that. You can sign up for the lower level class and then change you schedule when you get your AP scores. Or, if you're really confident that you did well on your APs, just sign up for the higher class.

My school encouraged you to sign up for classes based on what you think you're going to get on those exams. e.g. if you think you got a 5 on bc calc, go sign up for calc III - if you later find out you got a lower score, then drop down.
