One Liberal Arts elective (4 credits total)

I guess I can actually choose only the Liberal arts elective.

Why are you in a rush to get back home? Orientation is your introduction to BU and Boston. It is your first exposure to where you will be living for the next four years and it involves a lot more than course registration.

If I go there in June, I will likely be in a rush because I’ll have to prepare for HS exams here in Italy, which start by late June and end in the first week of July.
I’ll study more before then.

If you’re an international student, you have the option of attending the last orientation session that occurs immediately before classes start too so you don’t necessarily have to fly into Boston for 3 days in June/July. I believe they let you register for classes earlier too by phone or online if you’re participating in that very last session as an international student.

Keep in mind that the last session does conflict with the First Year Student Outreach Project though…if you were thinking of participating in FYSOP to do community service in a particular area the week before BU with about 1/4th of the freshman class (which you should consider, because it’s great!)

Assuming you don’t have advanced credit for either of the Econs and Calc, your schedule will look like this:

Fall: SM121, WR100, EC101, MA121/123

Spring: SM122, WR150, EC102, one elective

Note that EC101 and 102 are interchangeable, so you can start by taking 102 before you take 101 if you’d for some reason prefer it that way.

As an international student, you will have to take a writing assessment during Orientation to determine if you can take WR100 right away, or if you’ll have to take additional English classes (WR97,98,99) first.

I hope I can make it for the 13-15 June session, or I’ll have to come in August.
I’m considering to attend the FYSOP. Why did you enjoy it Lauren?

Thanks Hanita!, I appreciated that scheme you made and I didn’t know about that writing assessment test for international students. I’ll prepare for that.

Same situation here!! I’m an international student as well and don’t know how to cope with the orientation(the date is too rush…and the visa/ticket etc.)

So does any body know the last orientation date? Is orientation specific to particular major you’re in or just general one?
