orientation at ucla tomorrow

what time does it really start? and should i bring a laptop? fill me in!! and i'm coming from the 57 and the 60... how's traffic in the morning?

"How is traffic in the morning?"

Hahaha. Yea...

Hey, I'm going to orientation tomorrow too! And, due to family members hogging the cars, I'll have to be there for the ENTIRE thing.

I'll be bringing my laptop in case of any downtime and in case the lines are long for registration.

refer to the orientation i created and my analysis on it.

oh yea definitely bring a laptop. you'd probably want to hash out a schedule for yourself if some blip on the radar occurs during your academic advising

where can i find that? all my classes are closed... what do i do?

Same here, dbguy. I'm probably going to end up stuck with non-Poli Sci classes. I wouldn't mind, since there's lots of stuff I'm interested in, but I DO want to graduate in two years. What's your major?

I don't think bringing a laptop is necessary, you'll have to carry around extra weight because they give you a lot of stuff...

There are computer labs that you can use to search for classes, etc.

For registration, there are 2 computers in your OC's room, you don't really need to worry about getting the classes you want if you're not taking classes in an impacted major.

i'm taking civil engineering, and i think its pretty impacted cause all my classes are full. and i dont know what to do cause i'm probably done with my GE's

^RE: Traffic-West LA has some of the sickest, heaviest congestion in all of California. its summer, so it will be slightly less awful. id suggest becoming extremely familiar with your thomas guide and/or buying a GPS for your vehicle if ya don't have one. Avoid freeways at all cost, especially taking the 10 freeway across town.

Thomas Guide, lol. GPS all the way!

At this point it doesn't even matter if the majors are impacted because the majority of classes are full. When I was working with my OC yesterday she was having a hard time finding me ANY elective because they were all either full or overlapped with my other two classes.

I didn't take any freeways yesterday b/c I figured they would be horrendous, but I noticed that the morning traffic was much lighter than the afternoon traffic. Although, maybe I was just more aware of it because I was hot and tired after spending all day there. lol
