Okay,my orientation is in about a week and I have a some questions regarding it.

what stuffs do I need to bring except the basic clothing and toiletries?

do i bring my stuff in a suitcase/duffel bag or in smaller easy to carry bags? Do the dorms which we stay for two nights have A/C?

do we need laptops for class look up?

are freshmen living on-campus dorms allowed to bring to campus?

You need a pillow, sheets with blanket or sleeping bag and a a towel. You can bring your stuff in a suitcase or duffel or whatever you want. The dorm room is roomy. ALL dorms at FSU are air conditioned. For orientation, you will stay at Wildwood, one of the newest dorms. You do not need your laptop for class look-up or registration. You will do it in a computer room where you will have access to a computer. I am not sure what you are asking in question 4.

Be sure you have immunization records turned in and confirmed or you bring them with you oryou cannot register for class. It is a hassle to go to Thagard and get authorized for registration at orientation. GET IT DONE BEFORE YOU LEAVE.

Yes, freshman can have cars. Parking is not so great but yes, you can bring a car. You get one sticker included in the transportation fees that every student pays. This goes towards parking and the bus service.

Question: aren’t you a CARE student? I’m pretty sure the orientation for them isn’t until June…and you don’t do more than one orientation. Did you mess something up and accidentally register for a separate one?

No actually I am not. I could have applied and gotten into one but I choose the other regular way. I had some work/“skill and moral development” classes during the summer so I would not be able to manage college as well. So I applied for fall in the regular way.

The first parking permit is free for most students (anyone that isn’t a Dual Enrollment student at FSU or auditing a class, etc.). It’s included in one of the fees you pay as a student. If you lose it there is a $5 fee to replace it. You can also have a motorcycle or scooter permit, however these cost $58.85.
