Anyone know when the orientation info is sent to students?
@momtoaandv Check your OSU portal. We just scheduled my son’s orientation dates and times. Warning…all the orientation dates that were offered are on weekdays.
The dates are on the OSU website, and are sent based on order of enrollment commitment. I’m just hoping if my son selects OSU he will be able to get into a dorm and orientation.
@PeanutsMom THANKS!!! I went in and scheduled. She had no options, one set of dates only, she is Pharamacy/ Scholars
@peanutsmom and @momtoaandv My S tried registering for orientation per the instructions in the email but couldn’t move forward because he is still waiting for his Scholars Program placement (as we told by Orientation office.) Did your D receive confirmation of her Scholars preference? He was accepted into the Program just not assigned his focus area. We are anxious to register for orientation as many of the dates fall on final exams, senior trips or even graduation! Only a day or two was wide open. Thanks for any insight you may have!
My son has not heard back yet on his Scholars program either. When we scheduled it did say that they have him noted as part of the Scholars program but that was it. S had June dates (Science-Meteorology), luckily he’s done with classes/finals the first week of May so it worked out good for us.
Same thing as @Peanutsmom, we were able to register, it just said Pharmacy and Scholars. It did not say which scholars program. I’d try to register ASAP, like I said we had one option of a Monday and Tuesday, nothing else. Now we have to make sure both Dad and I can get the days off work…
@peanutsmom i tried and it took me the wrong dates- general orientation dates and now it won;t let me go back. Crazy! Orientation said we have to wait until Scholars preference is noted. I shared that others have “posted” the ability to sign up but it was like they didn’t believe me 
trying to set up for monday, tuesday largely because we travel 8 hours and it is end of year graduation time. thanks for your all your advice!
My son committed last week, received orientation link tonight, but not housing contract yet. He signed up for orientation based on Scholars, but doesn’t know his Scholars assingment yet. I guess he’ll have to switch it if he doesn’t want his Scholars group. WIsh this came in a different sequence.
Agree @nuum83 My S was able to select from the scholars orientation dates but we don’t know in which program he will get placed so that and housing could be effected by outcome. keeping fingers crossed all will work out. his experience as OOS applicant has only been positive so far.
Luckily my son’s top 2 choices for the Scholars program are both based in the new Torres House. So he was able to select June 2-3 for orientation as well as select the Scholars housing (Torres), provided he gets into at least one of his top 2 choices for Scholars.
