Orientation: Does anyone know when in July...?

hello!

Yes, I know that I probably will be receiving orientation information in the coming week(s). (end of may and early June, I believe)
But for now it is crucial that I find out when the July freshman orientation will be taking place so my family can coordinate when they're going on their summer vacation (so I can come with them of course :) !)
Or if not for them for me because then I need to figure how the heck I'm going to get down LA. If anyone has received anything from orientation snail mail please tell me! thanks! :)

I have the same dilemma. My parents nag at me every day to find out when the orientation days are and I keep saying "Nobody knows yet!!!"

Honestly, I think it's pretty lame that they haven't released them yet. It's almost June, and a lot of us have to make plans. It's not like it takes a lot of work to just release dates!!!

yep, yep. my parents are nagging me as well! But it's even more absurd because they have EVERYTHING ELSE posted online!

Someone posted the dates on Facebook a while ago. She was on campus and UCLA gave her a sheet with the session dates, but nothing else:

101 July 11-13
102 July 18-20
103 July 24-26
104 July 27-29
105 August 2-4
106 August 9-11
107 August 15-17
108 August 21-23
109 August 24-26
110 August 29-31

I saw that list... dunno how credible it is though

I wish they could schedule a date in late June!

those dates are probably accurate. Apparently there are 10 sessions... but UCLA is the only UC without 2005 orientation DATES posted...

yes. UCLA's tardiness is getting on my nerves

HEY!!! that was me that got the dates from UCLA..haha glad the info helped out people ^_^

p.s. im pretty sure they're accurate since they themselves were handing out the papers and they even told me which session to sign up for in case i was doing a summer program

they also said not to worry too much if you get a late orientation because even though you will have a later pick of classes after a couple of the first orienations they will close some classes and wont open them back up until the later orientations so everyone will get a fair shot........at least thats what i was told ........they could be lying.....haha

Yeah Thank You! I just hope that they're right, but then again why wouldn't they be :)

Bruinbee09, u better hope u r right. I told my parents of those dates u gave and they have everything planned. so if u r incorrect somehow, I will be blaming it all on u and u alone. (I will sue u, provided that u give me ur contact info).

how much is orientation? also do you have the choice of no meals/no lodge to save money if u dont need it

its about 340 i think.......and i dont know bout the no lodge and meals ..sorrie :(..

wow every other UC seems to be around $185

yeah, even Cal's is like $140...what makes UCLA so special that its like twice the cost of other schools? -__-"

are all the other UCs 3-night stays? feels like im being conned... that darn orientation better be the BEST!!!

oh btw, has anyone got their housing package yet?..

I know for a fact that Cal's is only a day and a half...don't know about the other UC's
