Orientation dorms: TV?

I'm in Revelle.

I know that for orientation we are supposed to spend the night in a dorm or something, but do they have TV in the dorms?

I'm asking this because the Lakers and Celtics will play game 7 (most likely) on the orientation day around 6-9pm. I've been following all season, I can't miss the most important game!

And I think its too late to reschedule... =[

Actually you won’t have to worry about that because the Celtics are going to win game 6. =P

But seriously, I’m guessing no since they don’t usually.

will we be able to access wi-fi while we’re at orientation?
you could bring your laptop and watch online

They do not provide TVs for the dorms. You and your suitemates will likely agree on one person to provide the TV when you move in (if you even want one).

So yeah, laptop is your best bet. You’ll be busy doing other things though you will want to get out and socialize, not watch TV.

That realllly sucks. I’m also a huge laker fan and I know how you feel, because my graduation is on the 17th. :confused: I can’t watch them celebrate … Since they’re winning it at home in 7! :slight_smile: it’s good to know there’s more true laker fans coming into ucsd!

Go to some bar to watch it? I’m missing my grad night to watch the game >:]

why would u miss grad night to watch a basketball game??? are your grad nights pretty bad? haha

@onyxlove

You’ll probably find more than a couple Lakers fans at UCSD. I’m still looking for Kings fans. They don’t exist. :(

Ugh. One of the biggest things I hate about UCSD is all the damn Laker fans down here.

^thank you

You can always check out Round Table or Porter’s … there’s also a huge TV in POTS (plaza on the side), but not sure if that’s open for orientation.

Go Kings!
… but since that’s not especially relevant tonight, Go-whatever-team-is-playing-against-the-Lakers!

cheering from NYC :)

^You like the Kings!?!?!?!?!?!?!

^Me three.

My family has had kings season tickets for like over 15 years…not to say they havent been a tad disappointing lately, but we are all still fans

And im def a fan for whoever plays against the lakers

@socalsoccerdude

It’s not just a regular basketball game. Its game 7 of the NBA finals. My grad night is at Disneyland so it’s not bad at all.

i guess if ur a die hard laker fan. mine was at disneyland too and it was one of the greatest high school experiences ive ever had. didnt like how i had cif the day after -___-

born and raised in Sacramento :)

Hahaha there are King’s fans at UCSD? I never knew…there are a bunch of Warriors fans though. GO WARRIORS (and whoever plays against the lakers)!

Well I guess I can’t help it! I lived in ghetto LA for a while, so I grew up a pretty big Lakers fan, especially during the three peat when I was like, what, 9-10 years old?

I’m pretty mad because I’ve been watching nearly every game… Then when the finals come I miss like 3 games for awards night, graduation, and now I’m gonna miss the BIG BIG game due to an early orientation, unless they have WiFi and I just hermit crab in my dorm after 6PM. Also I have to miss the Korea-Argentina game, AHHH.

If I’m your roommate during first orientation at Revelle, just a warning that I’m going to tune out from 6-10PM… Unless you’re also a lakers fan, then if we win, we can riot! Or if we lose, we can riot!

woohoo sacramento pride!
