Orientation: Parents' Dress

Pierre or anyone else who has been to orientation...how do most of the parents dress? I am packing now and my husband has dockers and button down short sleeve shirts...is that overdressing? I think it will be too hot for that...please advise!!!

Thanks,
Maureen

I’ve been on campus for my class and research over the past few weeks, and I’ve seen a lot of the incoming freshman and their parents. I would say that most parents dressed casually, usually with shorts and a polo or tshirt.

it’s very casual so basically what Mitch say, t-shirt/polo with shorts will work well
so basically don’t over-dress or under-dress, what you wear everyday will work

maureen, what’s the name of your son/daughter going to clemson?

Pierre, my son is JT Todd from New Jersey. I know he has been in touch with you (on Facebook?) and you guys had been planning a meet up in NYC with a bunch of kids. I think he said you were not going to be able to make it though :frowning:
We are sooo excited about orientation and you have been so helpful with all of our questions.

Maureen

oh cool, yeah I’m facebook friends with JT (haven’t met yet personally haha)

since a lot of people live in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey we were trying to see if we could get some people together. However, I’ll be leaving for Hong Kong on Monday for most of July and afterwards I have a family reunion in New Hampshire so it’s highly unlikely that I will get a chance to make the day trip to New York.

have fun at orientation this week!

thanks Pierre. You have a great/safe trip too!
