Orientation program

Hello,

From Paris at the moment, I’m coming next January at BU.

Recently, we have been asked to pay ~230$ for a “mandatory orientation program” with some activities.

I don’t really understand how an “orientation program” can ask to spend 230$.

Does anybody could give me more information about this ?
Thanks in advance !

Yeah! So basically, you will get an email at some point telling you the various days you can sign up to come to BU for an orientation. Since you are coming next January, it will probably be right before classes start, so you will move in and then attend the activities.

I attended a summer orientation, but I’m sure the January one is similar. You will be put in a group with a student advisor who will take you around campus. You’ll do some get to know you activities, and learn more about BU. There will probably be some seminars about BU life as well. Finally, you’ll also register for your classes if you haven’t done so already. The fee is for the food they give you, as well as for the room and other costs.

Thank you !
