it seems there is only one orientation date left open for registration for transfer students. It seems like it is very important to attend, but its like $80. I wanted to know if its a big deal if i just go by myself, and also would it be worth it to go or should i just take a tour. anyone else planning to attend the one on july 11?

Going without your folks will be fine--just take good notes for them & get info about the USC credit union if you'd like a joint account with your folks there. It IS good to go to orientation, since they have placement testing, advising, registration, & lots of helpful info & stuff all together for all the students at orientation. I'm very glad my child went, tho I'm sure he doesn't think it was crucial for me to be present. The things that I did while I was there was get the sheet which showed son's merit aid awards & others got info about what FAid awards they got as well. I was also able to speak with some other parents. I also spoke with some of the administrators & shared some paperwork about my son that I had brought to the orientation (nothing he couldn't have done himself.) Lastly, I signed up myself & son for joint accounts at the USC Credit Union.
