orientation questions (engineering)

OK, so I'm in the orientation that starts check-in July 27th @ 8AM for engineering. Question, where do we meet at that time? The orientation confirmation does not say...

Next, for those who have gone to the engineering orientation already, what do we do on Day 1 (sunday the 27th for me), Day 2, and Day 3?

You meet in East Quad. There will be a big sign.

Then, you go to your room and drop off your stuff. You fill out this long survey. You eat breakfast. Then the tour guides take you to a big hall where you listen to several presentations. The group is divided into 5 smaller groups with one tour guide apiece. You take a tour of campus, followed by lunch back in East Quad. Then, you have placement exams. After those is dinner. Then you see an acting presentation. After the show, you have your choice of a movie, billiards, crafts, or just going out wherever.

The second day, you have breakfast. Then you meet your parents in a big hall and have several more presentations. The engineers then go on a tour of the library and North Campus, where you eat lunch. After lunch, you stay on North Campus for peer advising, and you are again divided into even smaller groups.

Skip the food at East Quad, its no good.

Ran out of room...

The subgroups have a tour of North Campus again with peer advisors. Then, you meet with your academic advisor. After that, you get a brief explanation of how to use the Caen computers. Then, you go back to East Quad and have dinner. After dinner, you go to the learning community meetings if you are in one. If you aren't, you have some free time. Then, you prepare a rough draft of your classes. You go to the computer lab and "backpack" your classes. Whenever you finish, you are free to do whatever you wish for the rest of the night. Board games and ice cream are available in the East Quad dining hall.

The third day, depending on what time your academic advising appointment is (engineers were all at 8 for my orientation), you eat breakfast and head to North Campus to wait in line for awhile and then wait in the room for awhile and then finally meet with your advisor and give them your schedule to approve. Oh, and you can meet with the math advisor during the time when you are waiting in the room. After speaking with your advisor, you go the computer lab and register! Then you go back to East Quad and you're done with Orientation! You can eat lunch, pack, wait for your flight, etc.

Have a good time!

They had pretty good food when I was there. You have a choice of two different dining halls if you don't like what one is serving... It's true, they don't have much selection, so if you don't like what they are serving that day, that is unfortunate.

Ok, about AP exams though, I gave the order on Wednesday night and I did rush reporting which they said would take two business days... which I hope will be yesterday and today, and hopefully the scores will reach their office by the time I have to pick my classes right?

I think they pretty much take your word for it. My son's AP/IB results
were not on hand at orientation but the self-reported scores (plus transcript plus placement exams) were used.

Rush reporting was definitely unnecessary. You just tell them your scores and pick your classes. I'm sure they'd have confirmed them later in the summer... and if your scores didn't match what you had told them, you would have had to change your classes.

So, you'll be fine even if they don't get your scores in time.
