"While attending an earlier session means a wider choice of available courses, you may find that choosing a later Orientation session is more appropriate. Choosing a later Orientation session is beneficial if you are waiting for Advanced Placement test scores, final transcripts, or results from any outstanding work. If you come to an earlier session and these records are not available, you may need to make adjustments to your schedule after Orientation."

When do they get our AP exam scores and stuff? I kind of wanted to sign up for July 22-24, but I don't know if they will have my AP exams in...

EDIT:
http://collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/cal.html

"Early-Mid July
AP Grade Reports released to designated colleges, students, and their high schools."

I hope this means July 22nd is ok =\? Anyone else have any experience with this?

For Transfer Students: I signed up for 201( July 6th) since 202( July 13th) was full. :(

banana girl,
family vacation..i needed the early date or i would of had to wait until august which i didnt want to do.

dont ap scores become available by july 1? by phone at least ? so wouldnt the first session be fine because the scores usually come in the mail a couple of days after it becomes available by phone

I just grabbed session 102. Is anyone else planning on doing early arrival?

Don't they have to receive like "official scores" or something? Something that is mailed directly from collegeboard? I agree with you though... We should have our own copies that collegeboard mails to us early in July, so could we just take that? I don't know... I have session 103.

Also... It seems like engineers don't have a foreign language requirement... is this true? So... I don't need to take a language placment test then =o?

What's the link?
Oh, and I heard that you could check your AP scores early on some UCLA website, anyone want to confirm this?

And what does this mean "July 1, 2007 Grades by Phone available for current year's administration."?

do you need to take a math diagnostic exam if you got a 5 on AP calculus AB?
this meaning that i would like to take it over again to review my calculus. So basically would i need to take it for 31A?

In what way would not having your ap scores change things? If you know what you have beforehand couldn't you just keep that in mind at orientation? They'll get it eventually, and if you lied you'll just have to take those classes or placement exams later. I had to sign up for the 101 since I'm taking summer school and so I decided it would be better to miss the first few days (starts July 3rd, have 4th off, then I have class on the 5th since it's M-Th) rather than close to midterms or the final for that matter.

Yeah I agree about knowing your AP scores by phone and then signing up for classes that way. But will the counselor allow you to? Like if the score report hasn't actually come yet but you know your scores, I guess you can just not take placement exams or sign up for certain classes the way you know will work. But when signing up for orientation online, you have to sign up for the placement exams because you don't know yet how you did on APs, right?

I also assume the official scores do not have to be at UCLA from College Board by whenever your orientation is. I think people just wanted to be sure they at least knew what their unofficial scores were so they would know what they did/didn't place out of.

hey guys... reading this is making me nervous lol, i haven't signed up yet. what link do i go to in order to sign up?
