Orientation - Stuff to bring?

Hey, I found a nice list of the stuff to bring for orientation, and one of the items is the twin XL linen. Twin size linen is easy to find, but twin XL is definitely a challenge. Does anyone know where I could buy that? I found some online, but it's around $125 for a 3 piece set....seems a bit pricey.

On the orientation website it just says twin size linens.

Stores like Wal-Mart and Target will be stocking their shelves in a few weeks with “back to college” items. They’ll have XL twin sheet sets for about $20-the fitted bottom sheet is a little longer and the top sheet is same as regular usually. If you get a bed cover or blanket just get regular size–don’t buy anything custom sized or over priced. Target usually has the xl sheets year round in stores near colleges. Don’t spend $125 for a set of sheets! If you just need something for orientation, just bring a sleeping bag or regular size sheets–they’ll stretch enough!

@Corster: I know, but if you look at [Housing Options - Housing & Residential Education - University of South Florida](<a href=“Housing & Residential Education | University of South Florida”>Housing & Residential Education | University of South Florida) , it states that all the beds are twin XL.

@lizard: Thanks for the info. Would a regular twin sized comforter work as well? I’m an incoming freshman as well so I thought buying the sheets and stuff would be better than buying a sleeping bag just for orientation and end up buying the sheets and stuff anyways.

If you are unable to find them in time for orientation, there is the option to request a linen package from housing. It’s $12.84 and includes a pillow, blanket, pillowcase, sheets, towel and washcloth.

hacker, regular twin size comforter is perfect. The XL sheets are just a tiny bit longer, if you can find some fine, otherwise, bring whatever you have at home (clean and without too many holes!) The $12.84 deal newisland described isn’t bad for the night either.

Thanks! For the $12.84 deal, is it just for a night and they “recycle” that stuff, or is it all new linen? Have to ask because that seems very inexpensive if that’s all new.

I think it’s just for the orientation period.

We’re not shopping for dorm items until late July/early August, so this was a good deal for us.
