OK- DD and I are back from orientation—that is after 1 cancelled flight and 1 missed flight, car and luggage at another airport than we flew home to—aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

However- the Boston part was 100 different kinds of fabulous. I met so many wonderful parents and students and feel very positiive about DDs future at BU. Ironically, we sat at Logan airport last night with a prof. from BUs international relations dept. (DDs intended field of study) for @ 3 hours and he gave her lots of nice tips and advice. Small world.

I enjoyed the Back Bay trip and evening at Faneul hall. Having never really been to Boston, I was very impressed with all of the sights.

Rich Hall proved to be as smokin hot (literally) as previous posters had said it was. DD did take a fan—which really did NOT help and was not worth hauling to campus. I was the only one who thought the rooms in Rich Hall were fairly large. Compared to any school in Ohio that I have seen, they were really pretty nice. DD does not yet have a room assigned.

Best part of orientation was Dean Elmore. He is so captivating and just a reallly sincere guy!! Two words to sum it all up-----YAY BOSTON!

Hope all is well with you other BU folks----momipotent

I remember my orientation roommate (who also happened to be my freshman year roommate and a friend from high school) and I took our blankets and placed them in the MicroFridge. After awhile, we wrapped ourselves up in that in order to stay somewhat cool.

He is an interesting guy and really does make an effort to speak with students. He has weekly meetings in the GSU that are open to all students and he's a regular visitor of the BU pub. The rest of the administration should take notes from him.

I too am impressed with Dean E amd love the tux he sports for the parent jazz evening reception on the top floor of the Student Village during orientation.
