So are they going to provide us with linens and stuff for Orientation tomorrow for our beds? Because they didn't include that in the list of things we need to bring. I mean i know it's only one night but will we have sheets? Do we take them?...=/ COnfusedddd

Omg- i have the same eXACT question- ... i'm just going to bring some blankies just in case and keep it in the car.. and if i need it i'll go get it.. if not.. well that's cool too :)

so I wonder how the dance at night will be.

Ugh, dance. :(

Well, let us know how it goes!

Yes, basic sheets and towels are provided and you get to make your own bed. It can get chilly in some of the dorms, so an extra blanket couldn't hurt.

wait...dance?
huh...
Does anyone have a copy of the Orientation Schedule?

a dance?! ...sweet!
I'm not going til next week but sweet nonetheless.
yea, let us know how it goes. have fun!

Yeah there is a dance at night, like a social kind of.

The dance sort of died the night I went last year, and people hung out more in the dorms than where they horded us.

hahaha the dance was pretty lame.

But yes, they do provide you with linens. Just bring a backpack if you want so you don't have to carry around the huge course guide and all the other papers they give you...

I just went to bed since I was pretty tired. I didn't even hang out anywhere.

it was the lamest dance in the history of the human species.
the lights were on. yea. i didn't think it would be any fun and it really wasn't...hanging out in the dorms was wayy better.

so it is a good idea to bring a bookbag or backpack? i personally think it would me helpful to have but if no one else will have it then i'm sure i would be fine.

YES! i didn't bring one and my left arm was sore for the next day from carrying all the random papers and stuff.
maybe it's cuz i don't work out...but i'm serious.

We'd love to hear everyone's overall impressions of orientation...was it fun, or a lot of work?

Did you leave feeling excited about attending USC in August?

ORIENTATION WAS AWESOME!
you meet the best people
it's super fun
and the only bad part is registering on the second day because it's kind of hectic and you should be prepared
i'd suggest going thru a fake webregistration online beforehand to help yourself get the hang of things and i'd suggest looking through the course list to find good classes ahead of time
it makes everything simpler =)

Yep, it was pretty fun.

I HIGHLY suggest bringing some sort of fan, because it got pretty stuffy in the New/North dorms and there was no A/C.

People were very very friendly and a lot of people asked you your name, where u were from, what major you were in, etc.

Most people got their USCard (they take the picture for you there)

I second the comment about looking over classes ahead of time.

If you guys have any specific questions, I would be glad to answer.

do you meet with an adviser before your register?

Not your specific advisor...but you get to ask questions to a group of advisors that are there if you need it. Yuo don't get one on one time though.

That's interesting, I thought there was supposed to be one-on-one time with the academic advisor. Not the case?

My daughter's already got two of her classes because she signed up and was confirmed for a Learning Community. She's been going through the catalogue this weekend looking at what meets the core requirements, etc. Sounds like a good thing!
