So did anyone get their orientation dates yet??

Mine's June 15th and 16th! :D

Also.. for people who have been already (aka lindz lol you're the only one I know answering from first hand experience), will I be okay considering I'm not gonna know a single person there? I'm kind of shy so I'm a little worried.

yeah i went to orientation with a friend but she was in a different major so we didnt' see much of each other. a TON of people go and don't know anyone, so you will definitely be fine!!

glad you got an early orientation date, it makes for better class registration

If you aren't in scholars or honors, you can go to any of the dates right? Also, is the 2nd week of july considered late for registration? I need to see when I am available for orientation. I probably won't be actually commiting until mid april(when Umich finally tells me my decision) so I really hope registering later won't hurt me too much.

yup. and you SHOULD attend honors/scholars orientation if you're in those programs, but you don't HAVE to. orientations run through august so mid-july is about halfway. no matter when your date is you should be fun getting most of the classes you want, but the earlier the better.

Lindz - I was looking at my class schedule with the online info yesterday (you were right - I'll prob be in Chemistry every morning at 8 ugh!) - I noticed that some of the seats are already taken for classes. Guess these are being taken by upperclassmen getting their CORE lab sciences in.

So Lindz - when did registration open for upper classmean? when does it close?

I am going to a Civicus session - the first one is during senior week at OC - sorry but priorities suggest that I be tanning that week - so I don't get to go to orientation until the end of June. My schedule really revolves around the Civicus classes and I want to take a particular Stat class first semester and get it over with! Anybody else checking out pick-a-prof?

I'm going to whatever the first session is (its the scholars orientation date). I guess thats probably June 15-16. My final exams for high school are on those days, but hopefully I can just make them up later.

we started registration on the 30th (for athletes/disabilities/etc) and today, the 3rd (for upperclassmen) .... its open registration so it continues indefinitely. i'm not sure when the lowest credit levels start registering--probably early may.

a lot of upperclassmen save CORE until their last few semesters!! so yeah, that's why seats are taken.

also, if you notice a lower-level class with only 5ish seats (which may or may not be open), they will often do this to reserve seats for lower credit level students or incoming freshmen.

well, when u register, they should give u the available days listed out for you. if all is listed out, then u can prolly choose any..if some are ruled out cuz of special programs, then they wont give you that date as a choice.
