Orientation!!

I heard the CAS orientation is like in the middle of july and stuff...

i'm headed to Stern next year, is the orientation the same for all freshmen?

right in the middle of my summer.. kinda tough to make (why don't they just be normal and do it in august!)

is there an alternative?

The letter that was sent out said that the CAS orientation was in late June/early July.
I'm hoping it will be in June, as I will be out of the country most of July...
I'm not sure about Stern, though.

do you guys know if these are the only orientations? is there something right before school starts or do we just... sort of go in blind? that would not be very good...

wutta...there is a letter sent out??? when did u receive em' band nerd? intl takes too much time..anyone received them?

any other pertinent info from the letter?

nope, not really. It's just sort of like "congrats on getting in... more info will come later..."
I received it on Friday... I think...

There's five orientation sessions, plus Welcome Week. The dates are on the CAS website.

http://www.nyu.edu/cas/orientation/schedule.html

I'm not sure when we find out which orientation we're assigned to. I was told we won't know until at least May, since May 1st is the reply deadline for regular decision students.

only CAS and steinhardt have orientations during the summer... all the other schools hold their orientations during welcome week. aslo, once they assign you which orientation session they want you to go to, you can call them and change it.

do we stay in the dorms during orientation?

ya, for CAS you stay in weinstein for 2 nights

when is welcome week?

should be like the last week of august. ours was aug.28 - sep.4

Does anyone know which placement exams we have to take? It seems like all that testing would be a downer in an otherwise potentially positive experience.
