Orientation

What's orientation like? It seems pretty long. Do they really have that much stuff to keep you busy, or do you get a lot of free time?

Do most people enjoy it, or is it more just something you have to do?

Not much free time except that first night. Other than that its enjoyable, and you get a quick overview of the campus, although it may seem detailed, its not.

Where do you sleep?

In one of the residence halls, Buckley to be exact.

lots of walking and you meet alot of people. you do your class schedule and UConn ID card as well. worth going to...

ive been seeing orientation people all over campus lately, especially in the library.

What happens if you don't complete the calculus survey at least 7 days prior to orientation?

Depends on your advisor, some don't even care if you take it, others do. Take it now if you want, but it doesn't really matter.

do you think that I would need to take it if I took AP calc and I am planning to enroll in calc 2?

Thanks, I took it and I printed out the info so that way I have proof of my score.

Well you should take it regardless if you took AP or not. There is no calc on it at all, and it takes 20 min or so.

All right, I know this has nothing to do with orientation, but is the LSAMP program required b/c they didn't say anything about it before now and I won't be able to make it 'cuz I'll be away. Ugh! This is so stupid--they should have mentioned this when they were giving out info about the program or at least before July. And why exactly is it from Aug. 21-22? Don't the other freshman move in the 25th? What will we do for those two extra days in between?

Its one of those programs that is your choice. If you can't do it, you can't do it. Its probably at that time to give you a chance to get used to the campus/ attend some workships.
