Is there anything i need to bring to orientation? Im going on the 24th. Also I submitted my resgistration a long time ago but I never received an email, letter, or call confirming this, how do i know im scheduled for it.

a change of clothes, thats about it. DOn't worry about not having any confirmation... ir emember i was freaking out about that because i signed up for orientation 3 days before it started and i didn't get anything either. If you registered ur in, just show up and you'll be fine.

how was your experience and what exactly did you guys do in orientation?

Stay hydrated. The program does give out ice cold water bottles at stops. It is smokin hot in Riverside right now. 112F? This year was definitely hotter than last.

yeah, i remember it being pretty hot and i went to orientation 2 years ago.. this summer is WAY hotter than 2 years ago so you guys are going to be dying.. hm... we did a lot of random stuff.. we took a tour of the school, signed up for id cards, registered for classes. Basically, we went from one line to another line. UCR should really reconsider how they do orientation as it is HOT in the summer.

how many people usually attend? 1000? 2000?

~500 each session

extremely hot, wear shorts and short sleeves lolz

bring extra bottles of water

there are many boring and stupid lectors (1:30 hour lecture on why you should use facebook, xanga, myspace) (WASTE OF TIME!)

i had a pretty awesome student counsler haha

just bring change of clothes for one night

on the first night theres a little party going on where you can go dancing or play pool, shoot hoops, rock climbing, and a non-alcholic bar haha. I downed like 6 stawberry drinks that night hahaa...

an alarm clock if you don't wanna count on your cellphone alarm. don't really have to bring much...

oh and when you go, be sure to take everything you need with you (folders, papers, folders) just keep it in a backpack or something because they don't allow you to go back to the dorms at ALL >=| haha yeah thats what i hated about it, non stop activities that aren't really that fun....

suggestion to orientation people
you guys should of did first day for important stuff and second day an optional bonding day... i feel like ucr orientation tries to hard to force people to bond when some peopel don't really even care. we are paying for this **** so shouldn't we atleast get to choose if we want to listen to these boring stuff haha...

on a random note: I think UCR HEAT MAKES PEOPLE BECOME ANGRY AND START CUSSING lolz... at the end of orientation, everybody was cussing like crazy and was all short tempered whenever we were outside and not in AC'd room lolz... beWARE!!
