my orientation is aug 22. is there a way i can find out if the classes i wanna take are closed? if they are closed are there any options that i can utalize to get in them? man i am little jittery that all the classes i want are closed for me.

also, if i wanted to meet an undergraduate advisor where would i go, mitchell building?

Go to Testudo --> Schedule of Classes on nav bar --> Course Listings. Find your course, and if certain sections are grayed out and say seats=0, then no seats. You can get into filled sections only if it's part of your major, and the person who helps with registration does that for you. As for the advisor, I don't think you can meet up with him/her until your orientation.

carpe what should i do if the classes i need to take are full? should i plea with the teacher to let me in? plz i would appreaciate any advice, kinda freaken out. and thx for the responce.

this is my first year too so i can't really answer much about class scheduling. All I remember hearing at my orientation was that if a class is full, you are put on the waitlist. But I think it'd be best if you choose a full class with no waitlists so far, because I think they let the first person on the waitlist in the class. If there aren't any 0 waitlists then I guess pick whichever's fewer ppl. I'm sure the registration people will help you out come orientation.

waitlists and holdfiles are pretty hard to get into, especially at this point when theyd already be pretty long. i believe most departments wont allow special permission from professors to get students into class, but you should check on that. you should just sign up for whatever classes you can and get your CORE requirements done with. there are always a few classes that fulfill some requirements available.

if they arent that long then you should go for it, just remember to check in everyday. if you have a good number on the waitlist for a large class you'll probably make it since a lot of people switch classes or drop them within the first week.

i think they might take clemency on me because i am a transfer student. obviously we get late orientation, while crappy freshman get early. i dunno what about what carpe sayed about allowing me to take a class thats full because its in my major.

sorry abe, for being one of such "crappy freshmen". as for what i said earlier, bsci106 had no open seats, but since im a bio major they automatically let me into one of the sections although they were full.
