I just figured I would start a thread about when everyone is going to orientation. I will be going April 16-17.

I'm goin April 9-10.

Im going the 22-24

My son registered for the 9-10 of April. Did anyone receive confirmation e-mails or snail mail? I need to make flight arrangements, but haven't heard if he's confirmed with AFA for those dates.

Thanks!

I registered for April 9-10 and got email confirmation the next day

Thanks Mitchell1311! You are very helpful & have lots of answers! :) We'll hold off on purchasing any tickets today.

Son is going April 9-10, also. We never got a confirmation email, but his ALO knew that he was registered for that time. We were told that there is no acceptance or denial for these sessions. If you registered, you can go; there is no limit on number of appointees in each session. The airline tickets are bought, and hotel reservations confirmed. I sure wish I were going along, but the wife gets to go. (I will be in the Dominican Republic with another of our kids for a service trip, as a chaperone.) The wife and two sons are flying in the Friday before to spend some time in the area before Monday. If anyone else is going to be there early maybe let us know and they can get together for lunch or something.

I'm going on the 9th and 10th of April too. Do appointees shadow fourth years?

Appointees can shadow any class, but most people are picked up by 4 digs.

Going April 9-10. The e-mail confirmation contained the info regarding boot purchase.

Also going April 9-10.

AS you determine what orientation you'd like to go to, you may want to do something that we did last year. Through CC, we arranged a dinner at a restaurant (Ted's Montana Grill) and had a chance to get to know each other. Some of the connections lasted into Basic. One of you attending each orientation would arrange the dinner and use CC as a way of comfirming the number. It included parents, which was nice for them as well.

I organized my group last year. It was a lot of fun. Ended up with a lot of people. I have class with two of the other CC people. We went to Biaggi's. I would highly suggest going, nice knowing people!

I know parents can go to orientation, but do most go or do most not go?
They have to stay in a hotel room, correct?

Yes, parents stay off-campus, but they will get tours and other things to do while their kid(s) are off doing their thing. Most do go, and I would definitely recommend it...it was very nice having my family there for it.

As a parent, I got a lot of great info from the orientation. Highly recommend it. For CCers, we also summarized what happened at orientation for those that couldn't go. Still, we all tend to pick up on the things that matter most to us so i suggest not missing this.

Would a 7:45 PM flight out of Denver on the day the Orientation ends give us enough time to get to the airport, turn back in the rental car, and make that flight?

Where is everyone staying. I'll be in Denver with my Aunt on the 8th, and plan on an overnight.

If anyone is interested, I might be free to take someone (or more than one) for orientation. (Male, of course)

If you're interested, send me a message and I'll give you my email.
