For current students, what were the two days like? How about the evening actiives on Day One? Share any stories and experiences for us incoming first years.

I would be the worst person to answer this since I spent most of Day One writing a term paper for a class I was taking that summer. However, I'll share what little I did. I went to the AFC to swim laps for a hour until the movie by the hot tub event started. We were in the hot tub watching Jaws. Loads of fun. There were a few poker games played throughout Hereford while a few dozen students were going nuts to find a suitable schedule for their first semester. I was "lucky" for being in E-school since I just have to decide among a set of pre-selected schedules that needed minimal changes. I did not get the my desired schedule right away. So I went to the professors' offices and got my course action forms signed before August.

Here is a little advice, go to your advisor's office early. There will be a few people you sleep in so you can get your schedule approval and run down to your respective scheduling building and pray that your 20-something course list adds up to a schedule of 5 courses or more courses. Another nugget of wisdom: DON'T PANIC! If you didn't get into Elzinga's ECON 201, then wait until ISIS' successor is open and try to sign up for the class. Orientation only opens up a few seats for each session, but it will be open season once ISIS Jr. opens. People will drop classes to get into the class they want.

This is the obvious advice, have fun. This is a wonderful experience before you realize that your class' final grade is weighted on two tests and a paper. Seriously, try to have fun.

wait what theyre replacing isis? im not opposed, but was this publicized anywhere? haha.

yea dont freak about courses. just do whatever sounds fun and enjoy yourself.

yea I didn't realize this until I did a quick search on google and found this article from friday:

regarding the 2 days, just hope it doesn't rain and that the temperatures aren't too hot. There are plenty of things you can do that first night but it's up to you, I was exhausted and I had an early meeting time the next day so I went to bed earlier than many others.

My two days were very boring and very discouraging, but my school year was anything but. We walked around in the HOT C'ville weather, played a couple really awkward icebreaker games, and froze to death in Hereford's rooms. =P Nothing really remarkable as I can't remember anything, so don't be dismayed if yours is like mine.

Any more stories guys? Hot tub sounds fun.

Okay, I was mistaken on when ISIS would be replaced. Too bad this change won't affect me unless I get my Master's here.
