Orientation

so is there anything else i should take besides whats on the list at the davis website of ‘what to bring’…?

thanksss!

looking forward to be there july 6! =]

where's the list?

where do you sleep at orientation
roomates are random?

Just see? I mean, it's two days away for the first group...So ya. Lol.

lol i'm packing rite now :D

just see??

thats why i need to know im going on sunday!

I don't quite remember what was on the orientation list as I went in 2006...but I think I would be helpful to bring a computer if you could. Um, I'm not quite sure how the whole setting it up with RESNET (which is like the internet in the dorms) would work. But I do remember that when we had more laptops, the students in my orientation group would be able to sign up faster as you have to use the internet to get onto sisweb to sign up for classes.

Maybe also bring some cash, if you want to get any snacks at Trudy's (that is if you're staying in Tercero, which I believe you are, but not entirely sure).

Shower shoes? if you're taking a shower...

have fun at orientation!! you'll meet lots of people! : )

thanks for the input!
is it easy to meet people, i dont know anyone going when im going :(

is everyone living in tercero during orientation?

Yep, all orientation students will live in the same area. I think last year it was Tercero South-Kearney building. Have fun and stay hydrated! It gets mighty hot and dry in the summer.

there is no tv!

denneyk: did people bring backpacks or suitcases?

...there should be a TV.. it's on the first floor in the lounge..unless housing took it out so that you guys would interact with each other, instead of the TV.

people took both backpacks and suitcases....how about just doing it in between and take a duffel (like a gym bag type)...it's not too big, not too small.. can fit all of your clothes for the 2 or 3 days in the summer heat..maybe bring a nalgene to keep you hydrated too.

where's the list of things to bring?
is it on the orientation page?

Hey i was wondering if anyone could ease my anxiety on my flight plans for orientation lol...

My flight leaves for Davis 9:55 and arrives at approximately 11:20. Will that leave me enough time to make it to orientation at 1?

Also my flight leaves sacramento at the end of orientation at 2:05 p.m. , will THIS time frame possibly trouble me?

sry for double post but
Changed my departing Sacr. to later time w/o any additional charge ^_^

altho i still would like advice on the time to get there

You'll have enough time to get to orientation by 1. The bus ride from the Sacto airport is less than an hour long. The hardest part for you will be finding the dorms from the bus depot. Make sure to bring a map with you!!!

oh yah there's a tv in 1st floor lounge. dude the seminars are really pointless in boring. i'd just use time to hang out with ppl/walk around campus(if not too hot) or just rest. bcuz u usually tend to sleep rly late bcuz everyone is socializing at nice (only free time). hope everyone has fun/had fun :D
