Orientation

Could some current BU students describe the summer orientation?

Orientation runs from Wednesday to Friday afternoon. Wednesday is optional; the other 2 days are mandatory. Wednesday usually entails more get-to-know-each-other activities, like city trips with other freshmen and current student chaperones. There will also be opportunities to take language placement and writing placement tests. Thursday will be a long day, filled mostly with academic advising and picking courses. You can also take placement tests on this day if you didn’t on Wednesday. You’ll also learn about various campus resources and rules and regulations. At night, there is a sketch done by the student advisors followed by some hang-out time at the Student Union. You stay in the dorms in West campus with other freshmen. Friday morning you’ll wake up, get your Terrier Card (student ID) and register for your classes. That’s basically it.
