ORMS major

I got into pre-ECON as a transfer for spring07 but I might just change on over to the OPERATIONS RESEARCH & MANAGEMENT SCIENCE major. It seems like the perfect major for me... combining what i love about econ (applied micro/behavioral/decision making) with math & business.

I have some questions...

what level of difficulty can i expect in IEOR courses? Is this a difficult major to get into? how difficult would it be to double major in econ & orms? orms & applied math?

& any other information you could give me re: the major would be great. thanks!

I'm a freshman going into IEOR. From what I hear, it isn't that hard, and I heard it's tiny, like with 15 kids in the major in the 1st year...eventually more kids transfer in

bump......

I want more info. about ORMS as well.

No, it's not 15 students per year, more like ~25. There were 109 undergrads in the 04-05 year. Basically the upper div courses will rock b/c the class size is so small :)

But then again, ORMS students will also be taking IEOR courses... so maybe not so small anymore. However, ORMS is impacted.

nah i meant it starts off with 15...according to professor adler (i asked him a few weeks ago)

later on, people realize how awesome the major is and transfer in, bringing it up to about 25 ;)

Oh awesome! I am one of the 10 :p bioE -> IEOR

Now ORMS major accepts new students!!
