I got an invitation to this program in the mail recently so i went and did some research on it. I was ecstatic when i saw that i was a considerable candidate for this program. But then when i checked the requirements i found that my SATs did not meet their minimum requirements. Yet, i received an invitation to this invite only program which is really puzzling me.

Does anyone know if my applying to the program would be in vein because of my SAT score? Has anyone heard or been invited and accepted to the program under circumstances like mine?

It sound as if you’ve been invited to apply to Scholars. It won’t hurt to apply! Honors does not send out an invitation with an application, it’s just an invitation inviting you to accept honors status (based off of your OSU application).

The invitations for Honors come in the mail about two weeks after being accepted to OSU. At least, that was the timing for my daughter. She was accepted on November 10, and received the Honors invite about two weeks later.

You should check out all the scholars programs. My son is in Mount Leadership this year, and can’t say enough about it. He has made close friends through living in the community. He loves the location of being on North Campus. Sounds like they have just the right mix of fun and quiet for study in the dorms. He is so happy at Ohio State, and the scholars program turned out to be a big reason why.
