OSU admission letter 2010

We just today received notice that our daughter has been offered admission into OSU for fall 2010. We were very surprised to find this letter already, however very happy. The letter states that more information will follow detailing the next steps in the enrollment process.

If you don’t mind my asking, how long ago did your daughter have all of her materials at OSU? They got mine about a month ago this Monday and I’m not sure as to when I’ll receive a decision.

Was it an actual letter or email? And yes if you dont mind would you maybe post her stats and indicated major.

Sorry if this seems a little interogatory but im so anxious i wanna get to columbus so bad. Definately my first choice.

I applied early september but im not totally sure when everything was totally in im thinking late september. (My stats, 25 act, 3.83 gpa, class rank like top 11 or 12 percent (missed top ten percent by one person) First year engineering

My son got his official letter of admission yesterday, too! (he found out via their online application status check that he was admitted this past Thursday…so it wasn’t a surprise when the letter arrived).

His application was completed early-mid September. College of Arts and Sciences (Humanities) - 29 ACT, 3.33 GPA from most competitive public high school in IL.

He framed the letter! So excited!

She received a letter from the Admissions Department. She applied 1st week of November and heard back in only about 2 weeks. She has a 29 ACT and is a 4.0 in a very good Ohio public that was ranked 11th in the state of over 600 schools. If you have a personal contact from your college day visit, I would recommend just contacting them via email if possible. Just as a little check on things. Her major of choice will be something in the medical field. Good luck with your application.

This makes me angry and anxious, but a big CONGRATS to you guys. And kjfancis i will look for a contact from my visit to check on things, thanks for the tip. Do you think i havent heard back because im kinda on the edge with my act score (3.83 gpa and 25 act) or because im going for engineering im mean my application was submitted via online Sept 6 (thats what it says in the status) but i took the sept act, however they already had my sat something like 1160 or so?

Sorry if i sound paranoid but i really want to go to osu. If you have any suggestions please let me know.

Thanks

My D hasn’t heard yet either, and her app has been in for a month. 3.95 GPA, 30 ACT, hispanic, goes to average high school in Lake County, IL. Good luck to everyone waiting! And so glad to hear of other Illinois residents (New Trier? Stevenson?) who want to be Buckeyes!

SquattingDog - are you sure they have all your materials?

I hope so…

My status since september has been “your application is complete and ready for review/evaluation” and the green box has said “Evaluation” since the same time.

When i click show status of required items it says: Act/Sat Complete
Fee Complete
Application Complete
School/Guidance Form COmplete

I dont see how i can be missing anything.

I was reading on the UIUC thread (didnt apply, couldnt get in) and it said they hold all of the engineering apps for awhile to get as many in as they can, thats the only thing i can think of. However I was under the assumption you are admitted to the university as a whole (not quite sure of that tho) in a pre program (at least in engineering) and then apply to the engineering program (im positive of that) the end of your frosh yea

My application has been complete for well over a month now and I have a 34 act with a 4.4 weighted GPA so I would assume that I would get in, but on the OSU website I could have sworn it said decisions wouldnt be sent till december, so that might be the reason engineers havent received a decision yet…

I applied engineering and my application status still reads “evaluation”
