OSU getting harder

I’m not a fan of considering something a “safety” but yes, I’d say you’re 99% in at OSU. Just never be cocky about it in your app (there is a brief essay).

As for honors, you will be automatically “invited” to join based on your SAT/ACT, GPA, and/or rank - BUT BE SURE TO ACCEPT THE INVITATION by the date they tell you (you just have to confirm online sometime in April) - I almost forgot to do that last year :)

I’m an incoming honors business freshman (class of '14) and had these stats:

SAT: 2160
SAT II’s: Math II=700 / Chem=760 / US History=740
ACT: 31
AP’s: five 5’s, and two 4’s
Rank: 3/200ish
School: Private, College-prep
EC’s: Unique experiences & lots of meaningful leadership w/ tangible results

Just a bit of advice from someone who was in your shoes a year ago: KEEP AN OPEN MIND and START YOUR SEARCH/APPS EARLY. I was dead-set on going to a top-tier school w/ a strong undergrad biz program. I was accepted to all my “top” schools (Georgetown, Boston College honors, and NYU) except Penn (rejected at Wharton RD). OSU was my “safety” yet fast forward to the present and I’ll be starting classes at OSU in a month. You just never know where life will take you…

Also, NEVER be blinded by prestige - it’s useless at the undergrad level (hence my decision to turn down all my acceptances at supposedly “great” schools).

Best of luck with your applications/decision… but I really do hope you choose to be a Buckeye - OSU is just such an amazing school - it offers almost anything you could want :)
