OSU Mech Engineering admissions?

I wanna transfer to OSU from out of state into the Mech Engineering department. Or at least, pre Engineering. I think I asked here before, but I was considering Poli Science before.

Now I’ve changed my mind, and while Engineering majors have to take alot of the classes I did, the order of when they take them is totally different.

So, with like, a 3.2-3.4 GPA, and a high twenty something on the ACT, would I have a chance at Mech Engineering…or pre mech engineering?

no takers?

First, I think that you have a good enough record to gain admission into the ME major. The dept web site indicates that a min gpa of 2.8 is required for direct admission into the program.

Yea, but I won’t have the right classes for the major, so how would that work out? Could I still be admitted and take the classes for the major, without being in it?

B88, I do not think that you can register for CofE courses if you are not enrolled in a program of that college. However you merely need to call the ME department to get a definitive answer to this question.

Well I mean like, Math whatever doesn’t neccesarily mean it’s part of Engingeering. I could be a Sociology major who just loves math or something.

Hmmm, either way, I’ll just have to apply. If I take classes during the summer as well, is there some way I could put that on the application so they kow I’m in the process of taking those classes?
