Hey everyone,

as the title states, I really need help with this one. I was admitted as a transfer student to OSU and Purdue for engineering, electrical and computer engineering to be exact...

I don't really know what to choose, and i need to make my decision as fast as possible.

Right now, I'm leaning towards OSU, and yes, I understand Purdue has a better engineering program by rank, but on my visit, I just loved OSU's campus and the feel of it, compared to Purdue. Purdue was good, I guess, but I didn't feel anything special, and I didn't like the layout of campus as much as OSU's.

I'm planning on being a co-op student for internships, so that is one important factor. Money is not an issue, I'm OOS for both, so they're equally expensive (sorry, mom, I swear buy degree will pay for it). However, I'm mostly worried about 'fit.' Obviously, as a transfer student, there was something I was missing at my previous institution that caused me to seek a different school. So, I've been wary of making the wrong decision once again.

Before my visits, I wanted to go to Purdue because it was better in engineering and I figured it had better recruitment for jobs/internships/co-ops. Now, though, I'm conflicted. I feel like my academic experience may be more challenging at Purdue--however, OSU did seem to have a more open approach to research, they told me basically anyone who really wants a research job will receive one, or can create one with a professor-- but I really liked the feel of Ohio St. more than Purdue (OSU seemed to blow Purdue out of the water in that respect). Then again, Purdue seems like it may provide a better opportunity to get better internships and jobs...

Ultimately, I know that I plan to go to grad school, and I know that degree will mean the most to employers, so I guess I have two specific questions:
1) Do you think the difference in the reputation/strength of the engineering programs will be so great that I should choose Purdue over OSU where I felt more of the 'fit' factor?

and

2) What do you make of OSU's vs. Purdue's research? just for reference, Purdue has a 3.2 bil endowment 472 mil expended on research. OSU has 2.2 bil endowment, 720 mil on research. I'm not sure if I should be saying, 'oh, purdue has less students, so that's why' or 'wow, osu's research opportunity is substantially greater'

Any other info. would be gladly accepted. Thanks!
