Before I start, I just wanted to state that I am going to say things that are deeply connected to issues that I have been constantly thinking about over the months after I had received my acceptance to OSU. While I am a student at one of OSU’s regional campuses, I am also going to be taking classes at the main campus. I’m going to be going into architecture as my major. As of now though, I am currently trying out for the marching band. If I make the band, I’ll have more than 2 classes down at main campus. If I make the band, that means my schedule will have to undergo some changes.
Now, the issue that I keep thinking about, the issue that keeps deterring and hindering my integrity to even proceed in the band’s tryout process. Is the fact that I have to travel insane distances to get from one place to another. Now, I get that some people might travel further distances, but the fact that I am taking classes down at the main campus and having other classes at the regional campus makes no sense to me. I don’t understand why they are having me travel one hour to the regional campus and an hour and a half all the way down to main. I feel that my schedule will be very tight, and that I will be put at a disadvantage when compared to others in the school of architecture. I want to find a solution to ease this stress I’ve been having. If there is anything you guys can say or give advice on, it would be greatly appreciated.
Lastly, I’m not upset that I didn’t get accepted to main campus. I’m fine with where I am. In all honesty, I didn’t expect to get accepted. I understand my faults, and I worked hard to get where I am. I was happy to know that I’m going to main campus for classes, but then again, stressed over the issue of my schedule and the travel distances I must endure.
Sorry for the lengthy post!
