So I got accepted to OSU and Case Western, and I'm waiting to hear from Rice, Purdue, and U of Michigan.. I wondered what the chances of me getting into those three are if I've made it to Case?

Also, I intend to go into engineering, and I would love to have an overall amazing college experience - extracurriculars, environment and academics are all crucial factors.
However, many seem to consider OSU as a less prestigious institute than Case, and think its more of WOW factor that I got into Case, not so much for OSU.. I wondered why this was so?
And what would be better for an engineering major - Case or OSU?

Much thanks :)

Well, I wouldn’t say case has more of a wow factor than OSU. Admissions wise, they are extremely similar. I too got into both (Case and OSU honors engineering program), and it is hard to tell. Both schools are graduate based (as opposed to a LAC that is undergraduate based). It just depends what you’re going for. Case is extremely tough, with a definite case of grade deflation. I have also heard that their math and physics classes are extremely cut throat. I’m leaning towards OSU because of the cost difference.

Plus, Cleveland Sucks. Let’s be honest.

Case is a better school than OSU in terms of getting into graduate school and for future jobs. They’re incomparable, though, because of differences in size, focus, atmosphere, and cost.

If you want academics, no matter what the cost, Case. If you want parties, OSU. Also, Case does NOT grade deflate, nor are the classes “cutthroat.” People who don’t study or work hard complain about getting Cs and Ds because they were used to getting As in high school without trying.
