With financial aid and scholarships, all of the schools basically cost the same so money is not the issue… but I would just like to know which school is best for studying computer science? Also factors like undergrad research, co-ops, campus life, and the surrounding city play a part in my decision (I want to go to school in a city environment). Also i got accepted into OSU’s honors program but not Purdue’s if that makes a difference
Based on your criteria, I’d choose either Cincinnati (excellent co ops + city) or CWRU (great location and academics).
Both Purdue and TOSU are in smaller, college towns.
OSU isn’t in a small college town, in fact Columbus is quite comparable in size to Cincinnati.
One thing to consider will be the ease of getting into the major. At OSU, you need a 3.2 at the end of first year to get into CS major. It is doable, but then only around 50-60% of those who start as pre-majors make it.
OP may want to carefully check out how other schools are in this regards.
I will like to point out that both Cincinnati and Case do not have standalone CS departments. They run their CS programs out of EECS departments, and both are quite short on actual CS faculty.
