<p>do the gothic era, the cathedrals are really interesting and it was a big movement.</p>
<p>You could discuss Impressionism in America or in Europe, portraiture before the photograph and the importance of symbolism, dadaism, the American west and landscape, genre-style painting…</p>
<p>A really interesting school of art in America was the Ashcan school in the early 1900’s. You could discuss their importance in displaying what life was like in industrial societies or urban centers. There’s a group of about 6-8 really good artists that you could discuss. what kind of art appreciation or art history class are you taking?</p>
<p>It’s just a basic art appreciation class. I’m taking it to fulfill my GE classes. That was a really in depth topic suggestion, thanks. I take it you’re an art major? or do you just really like art? lol</p>

Those are some topics I like personally…you could get into architecture, but it might get kind of annoying for you to learn all of the terminology if you haven’t in class…</p>
