<p>No... Got deferred to the General Studies Program (GSP). It's not CAS, but it's better than nothing (it's sort of a mutual "taking advantage" situation). I hate these numbers-based schools-- None of them can get over my 560 in Math (SATI). I think even Stanford is less numbers-based (I had 1800 SATI when I was deferred).</p>

<p>I just formally declined UCSD's "offer of admission." It asks you why you declined. I checked the box that basically said, "I'm going to a college with better financial aid or scholarships."</p>

<p>In my case I found out when I opened up my provisional award letter (for UCLA) and found something called a University Scholarship (not grant). I looked up what it was somewhere in the Financial Aid pages, and the description said it's awarded to people who make Regents' semifinalist standing but ultimatedly did not get chosen.</p>
