When filing my common app I saw a question about a former last name. I am an Ethiopian citizen and in Ethiopia all my records (transcript, etc..) are written as XxXX YYYY where XXXX is my first name and YYYY is my father's name. But my full name is XXXX YYYY ZZZZZ, therefore ZZZZZ is my last name in the American sense. What should I do, should I write YYYYY on the space provided for Former last name? I really need help.</p>
<p>your full name should be whats on ure birth certificate (you might have a translated one since your in the U.S. now)
other last names you dont have to answer but you can put what you want. Or put it in additional info with an explanation</p>
