"Other Legal Name" on UC app

(I don't know where else to put this)

ALL NAMES USED BELOW ARE FICTITIOUS and are in no way intended to represent people who actually have this name.

On my UC account, I can update my account information any time. My true legal name, the name on the passport, appears as "Liu Wang." This is what I have put under main legal name on the UC app

All my school transcripts and social security, tax forms, yadayada use this name. But one of them looks like this on the transcripts: Liu (Elizabeth) Wang. As a result, the UC sent me a ELC letter like this Liu Elizabeth Wang (WITH NO PARENTHESIS)

In 9th, 10th grade, my family always filed my name under Elizabeth L. Wang, so for a while my STAR reports came back with that name, thus this name has "appeared" on other records and documents. I intend to change my name to Elizabeth Liu Wang once I become a US citizen.

My question is, should I put Liu Elizabeth (first name) Wang (last name), Elizabeth Liu Wang, or nothing on the other legal name section?

I don't want to be denied admission because of a technicality like this. Am I okay?

You can just copy/paste the explanation that you have written here (with your actual name) into the UC application. The campuses will figure it out.

Hm…

A UC that I applied to emailed me back with some info (username, ID#) and I think they figured out that I was the same girl who took a course there this past summer.

That should be a safe sign right?

You just need to make sure ALL of your records will synch up and nothing gets lost in the shuffle (students do get kicked out for not having all the paperwork turned in on time).
