other schools?

what other schools have anyone applied to?

i did mit, wpi, rpi, tufts, harvard (really just to see if i can get in), and a few "safety" schools

rpi, mit, brown, columbia, cornell, cmu, plus safeties

I also applied to MIT, Carnegie Mellon, Cornell, Northwestern, UIUC (in-state), and RPI. Heh, definately some similarities.... I wonder why ;p

rpi, cmu, u of Rochester, case

I'm hoping to go to cmu for ece.

stanford (rejected), MIT, caltech, princeton, rice, northwestern

seems that i too have been denied after reading Dean Murdoch's blog post. too bad...but i know there were a lot of more qualified students for the CW. it was nice while the mailings/campus visit/application/hoping lasted. Now, onto my options:

I applied for Comp eng. to Drexel (accepted), Rutgers (state, accepted), Rowan (state, accepted), RPI (accepted), Stevens, Lehigh, Cooper U, Tufts

I also applied to MIT, WPI, BU, Brown, UPenn, Columbia, Tufts, and Carnegie Mellon. I don't hear from any until around April 1st, though.

just fyi for those to whom it is relevant:

my final decision was between olin and northwestern. while their classes (such as math and physics), at the time that i visited, were not integrated as they are here at olin, which is one of the things i love about this school, i was extremely impressed with the integration of projects into the engineering curriculum--for example, a second-quarter design project in collaboration with a rehabilitation hospital in Chicago to produce devices that are actually used by people at the institute, such as a device allowing a person recuperating from a stroke to crack an egg with one hand that i saw presented when I was visiting. their co-op program (graduate in five years with one year of industry experience under your belt already) was also very impressive. for any musicians out there, while i didn't look into it in detail because i became physically incapable of taking an audition during the application period, i do know that they specifically offer a five-year double degree program in music performance and engineering.

good luck to all!

I'm that weird girl who didn't apply to any other technical schools, and my "safety" is actually my other top choice. I like free tuition (among other things).

Still haven't heard from Harvard or Amherst College (though I'm starting to think they are more "prestige" schools than really high-end educations). I'm going to University of Southern California next week to visit, and if I don't get into Olin, I will be at Ohio State University.

My daughter (Olin junior) also applied to OSU, and a few other techie schools. OSU became her second choice after Olin, ahead of the other tech schools. The honors engineering program, and the chance to play in their marching band was a great combination!

I was stuck (as it seems to be a theme between a lot of Oliners) between Olin and Rice. I had to pick a waitlist to hold out for, I picked Olin. There is something about this place that sucks you in, and keeps you sucked in.

I have a question to current Oliners, preferrably those who have visited Carnegie Mellon. I enjoyed Olin a lot and really hope I get in, but the pessimist in me worries about getting in. I was planning on visiting CMU over spring break, but now that I've been to Olin, I'm not sure if I should still see CMU, since I don't have exactly the best financial situation. So anyone been at both that could compare them/offer any advice?

I applied to: MIT, Harvard, Penn, Columbia, my "urban four"; plus Carnegie Mellon, WPI (which my guidance counselor told me i was accepted to (?)),my non-east-coast-safety schools= Wash U in St. Louis and U of Miami,

and of course, OLIN.

Hey everyone! Stan and I applied to the exact same seven schools!

Olin, MIT, Cornell, Northwestern, Carnegie Mellon, RPI, and UIUC!

What're the odds?!

Whoa! Thought you were talking to me there mognoose, I'm a Stan too
