Although Cooper Union posts a $35,000 tuition, the only expenses are for room/board/books and other living costs, the tuition is taken care of by scholarship.

Is there any other school for ART that does that or comes close to being as low cost?

I guess your looking for alternatives for education without paying that +10K Tuition.
It’s hard to find schools like Cooper Union and Cooper in particular is a very unique case, so I say there might be only a handful of schools that offer full tuition when your accepted. The best shots are going to more affordable schools (city/state schools) and become a resident and attend the public school. If your looking at NYC in particular I advise you for F.I.T it might not be the ideal school for fine arts, but they do offer a decent and affordable program. In my personal opinion I think it’s pretty much the same thing whether you attend a less prestigious school compared to cooper union (your studying art.)

BTW FIT gives out plenty of financial aid (no strings attached). So many friends of mine that attend FIT pay almost nothing to attend school! Look for options
