Otterbein grad's success!

Hi all -

I believe Dr. John has mentioned this young woman, Mandy Bruno, before - but I thought you’d all enjoy reading this cool article that was in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette today. :)

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06155/695001-325.stm

Thanks, Coach! I hadn't seen this. Our faculty, students and alumni will enjoy it very much!

Thanks for the link, CoachC!! Wow. Mandy's playing opposite Brad Little -- I was just in a show w/ his sister! My, what a small musical theatre world this is.
I am half-tempted to take a road trip out to Pittsburgh, now! That production of "B&B" should be incredible!

I thought I'd bump this up, since we've just had a round of good news:

Dan Knechtges (OC '94), who choreographed Putnam County Spelling Bee last season, has just been hired to choreograph 110 in the Shade, starring Audra McDonald.

Lindsey Powell (OC '06) has just been cast as Chava in a production of Fiddler at Wisconsin's Fireside Theatre.

...and...

Daniel Everidge (also OC '06) was just offered the role of Roger in the upcoming Broadway production of Grease.

It's going to be a happy Thanksgiving in Ohio. (Doesn't hurt that the Buckeyes won, either.)

Some more exciting news for Mandy Bruno: http://www.soaps.com/guidinglight/news/717/GLs_Mandy_Bruno_Goes_to_Broadway

I am not a regular reader of soaps.com ...I just have a Google alert set for Otterbein, and this came up.

Wow, thanks Mezzomom for posting this! OK, I admit it, I do watch GL when I home! ;) How exciting for Mandy and OC, wooHoo! I noticed in the article it said she graduated with a BA, so I would take that to mean she was not in the musical theatre program?!

BTW, how do you set up a Google alert?

NanE, I've never watched GL...if I did, how could I spend all my spare time on CC? :D

To set up a Google alert, go to http://www.google.com . Under the search box is a link that says, "About Google." Click on that, and then click on "Google Services and Tools"; at the top of the page that comes up will be the link for "alerts"; from there, it's just a simple matter of completing the information they request.

I've been a bit disappointed in the alerts for Otterbein; they're mostly sports scores and team information (if my daughter were a jock, I'm sure I'd feel differently!) But it does give an idea of what Otterbein news is making the rounds. I also read the Tan and Cardinal online every week; once I'm at my home computer, I'll provide that link too.

She actually was in the BFA musical theatre program. (I graduated a couple years behind her and just found this thread because I googled myself. :-))

Thanks for sharing the aritcles were great. I have set up the google alerts thanks to mezzomom.

I set up Google alert too! I can't believe I never knew you could do that!

And thanks OCgrad06 for the info on Mandy, I thought that might be the case.
