How hard is it to get into OU? I want to major in petroleum engineering. I'm currently starting my jr. year with a horrible 3.23 GPA.

Are you instate?

nope, I wished...

You need a 3.6 unweighted GPA and I think be ranked in the top 25% of you classs. Not too bad.

OU's acceptance rate is 90%. It is super easy to get accepted. Go to a real school like the University of Texas.

Your post is ludicrous. OU is a great up an coming school.

If you are going into engineering you would be better off going to UT. They are ranked in the top 10 best schools in the nation for petroleum engineering.

i think ou is great.
ou and texas a&m univ are my two top choices.

but at texas a&m petroleum engineer is number 3 in nation.

Ou is not a great school. Anyone who accepts over 90% of applicants cant be taken seriously. Plus there the whole thing wit hit being in Oklahoma. uckk

I don't take people seriously that have grammar that could pass for a fourth grader.

I dont take people seriously who are cocky enough to correct grammar on a message board. All oklahoma is here for is to suck up Texas

The level of arrogance being displayed by some of the posters on this thread is astonishing. There is nothing wrong with either the University of Oklahoma or Oklahoma State University -- both offer excellent programs in a variety of departments. Newsflash for those of you boasting about UT or TAMU: there are lots of schools that are better ranked, for whatever that's worth, and plenty of would be applicants who would rather be dead than go to school in Texas. In short, grow up.

I'm one of the kids that would rather be dead than go Longhorn, Aggie, or any other of those stupid mascot names. And I live here.
