i took AP chem soph yr and got a 3, but A in the class.

will this significantly reduce my chances at a combined md/bs program such as brown plme?

cuz u took it in sophmore year it probably won't affect u that much but these schools really want to see achievement in chemistry. By the way, if u got a 3 and an A in the class they may be suspicious of just how easy ur class was.

Oh, and don't ask these questions. Even if it does detract from ur chances ur applying anyways. SO what does it matter, u just wasted ur time.

people ask these sorts of questions when they are asking for psychological and emotional help....they already know the answer but need assistance in comforting them....so give them care and reassurance instead of rejecting them

...i think it is still significant that stupidestofthesmart took it sophomore year...they have to consider all ur grades, don't they? i do agree with collegefreak87's comment about the intensity of the class.....however, i don't see how 1 bad ap score will detract from an entire application.........1 bad sat score, i could understand ur tensions, but i really don't think u should be concerned about the ap score.

hahaha, we should all seriously at least tryyy to give honest accounts......maybe they don't need to be brutal, but seriously.....i'm interested in hearing brutal comments about what's wrong with me....praise won't tell me what i can do more/better, you know?

right

my post was in response to:

lol, your AP scores are not sent by college board. Only if you write them on the app do they get sent. I have mostly 4s and 5s but i have a handful of 1s to upset teachers, so i just dind't list any of my AP scores.

now........there is the ap score report service (same idea as the sat score report service)..........but i don't think any of us programmers want to get ap placement anyway....unless ur trying to decrease ur undergrad. years and make life harder on yourself....lol.which is basically asking for ur gpa to drop below the requirement....buckwald, i think u've touched upon this subject before as well..

thanks for all your replies!

i thought colleges get the AP score report, and if you don't send them from your guidance counselor, then they will see that you have not decided to send (since they have the score report with everything on it)

so, should i send a 3 anyways since they will see regardless?

also, to clear things up, i asked my first question because i wanted to know if i should do something to try to make up for the score (like relearn chem and take satII or something) or just leave it at that. i should have rephrased, i guess.
