@CCadmin_Sorin please pass this post on. There is very seldom agreement on this forum. But unless I missed something…everyone including me thinks this redo is difficult to navigate, visually not working well, and is just…awful.
My screenname used to appear at the top of the screen. I could click on it and find my threads and posts. My name is no longer there. How do I even go about finding my own profile. Oh I see…I can click on my avatar.
Was this beta tested? I have to guess not.
And like others…I don’t see a “save draft” option…or anything like it.
@kelsmom Hello younger person here! I absolutely dislike it. White space is too much and it hurts my eyes, it is way too spaced out and BRIGHT. I know after the OG layout changed it was different, but it was still easy to navigate. This is just I can’t…so much scrolling so much space. The font is huge. I appreciated things being condensed just perfectly and way less scrolling. I do not understand in what way this was beneficial. Everything was so organized before (imo) and I would not have trouble finding anything. It hurts to look at this screen. Laptop version btw.
I just want to say thank you to the moderators who have been handling our comments with grace and patience. From the comments I’ve seen here from many moderators and forum champions here tonight, a lot of people were thrown under the bus on this update.
@thumper1 If you go to preference settings it goes straight to your profile where you can see and check threads and posts. "Click on the toolbar on the right corner. And the “Save Draft” is automatically saved. It will say “draft save”
That just seems idiotic. Did ANYONE who regularly uses the site beta test it? I’m gonna guess that some 22 year old “agile” programmers who thought they knew best did this. (Only a 22 year old would be dumb enough to do the upgrade in the middle of the day, if nothing else).
I am now on my laptop. The phone is almost literally unusable. There is so little content on the phone screen that it is a waste of time. The laptop is a bit better I terms of more stuff on the screen, but that $#&% sticky video is a no go. I’m going to get some ad blocker software, and if it doesn’t work, I won’t be using the site any more. After 10 sec or so, we at least should be able to close the video. Update: Okay, downloaded AdBlocker, and it did the trick. Whew.
I wonder if this wasn’t all a plan to change the guard here. The new format makes it hard to find things I know are here, and there is a lot of scrolling, often right past what I was looking for.
I am wondering if this is my sign from the universe to find some other way to procrastinate…

You weren’t around the last time a major overhaul was done. There was a lot of complaining, gnashing of teeth, a couple of the admins actually responded to feedback saying they would look at things… and nothing happened.
You either got used to it, or you left. The people who run the site didn’t/don’t care, there are always plenty of new subscribers to come along as their kids become college-age.
Sorry to be such a cynic, but that’s the way it went. At least they didn’t put up stupid video ads last time.
If they don’t at least fix the forum navigation, CC will lose users.

What toolbar in the right corner? I’m using an iPad. There isn’t one.
@thumper1 You’ll see a circle that kind of looks like a tool handy tool shape. If you click on it there will be two options. Sign out and Preference settings.

I can’t use this! As someone who suffers from migraines/vertigo/aura, the brightness & spacing is actually painful to look at.
I can’t find the list of “all threads” which I’ve enjoyed reading for years.

Well, I came back from a pause and this thewadvwas on page 13. After those posts, next page I could click is 17. Hmm. Used the arrow. Then from 14 I can cluck to, you guessed it, 17.
And if we want to go back, say from 13 to 9, where someone posted something we want to quote, we have to click the arrow multi times? Cant “jump long?”
Also. Haha, if this forum becomes a kids, who’s going to answer? Other kids?
And if Like counts make some head list, that doesnt make…them…accurate.
I spent too much time on CC before the “New Coke” update (perfect analogy @privatebanker !!!) But the added time it’s taking to s-c-r-o-l-l, not to mention to find what I’m looking for maybe my breaking point.
