-I don't think its productive for me to rate my own essays/reccs, because I can't honestly provide an objective opinion. However, I think that, at the very least, they are mediocre, nothing bad.
-History Major (except Cornell)

UMD-CP
SUNY Bing
Boston U
UVA
Johns Hopkins
Tufts
Wash U
Cornell (College of Human Ecology--Apparel Design)
Brown
Columbia

anyone?

10chars

your gpa is ok. your sat IIs are a bit lacking, especially the 680 math II considering the generous curve on it.your awards are excellent. I'd say you're already in for boston u, cornell, but john hopkins, brown, and columbia seem to be mid-reaches. not sure about the others.

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with StrangeCamus on this one. Your GPA is pretty weak by modern standards and those SAT scores are atrocious. Once you get up in the 2450+ range, most of those schools should be low reaches. Also, 12 AP courses proves to admissions officers that you only care about advanced classes. I recommend taking Intro to Film and Video or another round of gym to balance out that heavy courseload.

I think you'll get into all of your schools except the Ivies. I wouldn't be surprised if you got into one of the Ivies though--you're definitely on the cusp.

haha well at least i'm normal enough to get sarcasm?

the schools i already know about are
UMD-accepted
Wash U-waitlisted
and I know that I didn't recieve honors for UVA but idk if i got in to the school yet.
(I also got rejected from Yale EA)

so with the rejection, waitlist, and lack of honors, i have no idea whats gonna happen, just wanted opininions!

Well, I assume the GPA must be weighted if a 4.2 only puts you into the first decile. Your results so far are not too encouraging for the Ivies, but it's awfully hard to say. I've gotta think you'll get into BU. If I were you, I'd be keeping my fingers crossed for Tufts, Hopkins, and UVA. As for Cornell, I have no clue about that program, although it looks like you have special credentials for it.

thanks for the input!
yeah i'm really hoping that cornell liked my portfolio enough to push me over the edge :/
